I want content in English, not based on my locale, in a language I speak. I'm not being too demanding, am I?
Hi,
if you're leaning towards 'yes' for your answer to that question, you've obviously not met my ex-wife, that's one thing I am clear on. Anyway, I live in Vietnam + over the years I've come to realize despite your settings, preferences, persuasions + pleas, dark forces are at work undermining the desire of mere mortals, laughing in the face of freedom of choice + condemning me to............... .VN!!!!!!!!!! Since the latest Ffox update things have been really bad, I've been getting battered with vn.yahoo, .vn this, that, you name it, if there's a chance to insult me with some Vina it's being taken, they're all at it, Giggle, Facebuck, since the update it's been brutal. Someone asked me if I'd tried Edge? I haven't, or line dancing, cross dressing + alcohol-free beer, I don't need to try something to know it's wrong. I've tried a few little shimmies I picked up from various sources, user.agent.locale, intl. locale...... I've tried all the obvious stuff so I'm hoping someone out there maybe knows some newly stolen 'fix' from the secret lab under Time's Square, or wherever it is???...... Seriously, though, if anyone can offer any enlightenment (in English, please!) on the subject I'd be sincerely grateful.... S

Living in a location where your language is not the standard is a problem. It's also a problem for the browser.
Check your language settings. Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar.
On the bottom of the page, find Languages. To its right, press the Choose button. Make sure the correct language and district are selected.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.,) and then perform these steps:
In Firefox 54 and below:
