Hi all,

I've recently updated Firefox and now having issues viewing some pages. I have made sure to let Firefox through my firewall, but for some reason, some websites just wont be shown.

I'll watch the page load but before its all done and I can get to reading, the whole page disappears and is just blank, whitey, nothingness.

One of the recent pages this has happened on is this one : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-25657949#TWEET1007165

I wonder if its a international thingy? I'm in New Zealand...

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I can't replicate the issue on that page from here in California.

Do you use any add-ons that filter page content, such as ad blockers? Sometimes they are overly aggressive in identifying advertisements (or sites try to discourage you from using them).

To see whether an extension might be a factor, try visiting some of the problem pages in Firefox's Safe Mode. Could you also try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

One other thought: if these pages are reloading from the cache (i.e., you are going back to them in the same tab), it's possible that you're seeing a problem similar to the Google search results page problem described in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../970863?page=5#answer-519981.
