When i load some pages my Firefox freezes for a moment.

I have created a new Profile. And it solved the problem. But the problem is tho, i don't want to delete the current Profile. Because i need the settings from it, like how Firefox looks etc.

So my question is. Is it possible to repair a broken profile without losing any of the settings on it? As i stated before, i dont want to delete it, because i need all of the settings from it.

This profile have been with me alot. Havnt created a new one since atleast 2010 i think.

Also, when Firefox 13 comes out beginning of June, there will be a Profile Repair tool, which will automatically fix your profile for you :)

Simply (when using 13) type "About:support" (without quotes) into the address bar, press Enter, and use the Profile Repair tool there :)

Thanks for the answers to begin with.

@mha007: I tried all of that, and it didnt work. Only works if i create a new profile.

@Tylerdowner: That seems to be nice. I guess i just have to wait and see :) Atleast i came hope it will solve my problem.

Nope, nothing.

But it seems for now that Fasterfox Lite is causing some of the problems. It freezes for a short time anyways without it, so i have no clue.

I will have Fasterfox Lite disabled and try that for a while.

As i said before tho, a new Profile will make things alot better. Even now that i have turned the add-on off.

Which files did you transfer?

It is best to be very restrictive and only copy as less files as possible.
In your case it might be better not to copy the places.sqlite database file, but restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

When i for example resinstall my computer. I save The Mozilla folder at C:\Users\Mjölkspam\AppData\Roaming. In that folder i got Extensions, Profiles, Plugins and another file that isnt a folder, pluginreg.dat.

I just save all that, and reinstall. Then i copy it back when i have installed Firefox. And everything looks the same as before. But i guess i can cause some problems. I just replace it, so all the new files i got when Firefox was new installed was just replaced. So in my eyes i cant see why that should cause problems.

That add-on, it wont change anything with my settings etc?

No, that extension tries to repair the places.sqlite database file.

Note that you will likely lose some data if you want to restore a broken profile.
It is best to copy one file ate a time (passwords require key3.db and signons.sqlite) and test if it is working and that there aren't problems with the restored data (all data is there and new data gets saved).

I used that add-on. Was the same as before. But it seems like Fasterfox Lite was the problem for now.

I havnt got those freezes for a while. Some things have been slow. And i think i got some freeze, but not as the ones before. So i will go with this for now. And report back if it comes back. Or just wait for Firefox 13 :)
