I upgraded my firefox, but my bookmarks were deleted. How do I get them all back? Are they on my hard drive?
see above

Sure. The following article has the steps to restore bookmark backups. When you get to the Restore menu, click the last item, Choose File..., and point that file browser dialog up to the Desktop, into Old Firefox Data, etc., until you get to the .jsonlz4 file and then select and open that.
Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
Success?

Hi rokweels, a normal update should not affect any of your accumulated data -- bookmarks, history, etc. -- or add-ons.
Sometimes during an update you may see a prompt indicating your Firefox started slowly and suggesting you try a Refresh. That should preserve your bookmarks. To see whether your Firefox performed a Refresh, can you check your Windows desktop for a folder named Old Firefox Data and if you find it, check inside to see how recently its contents were updated. If that's fresh, we can help you restore your missing bookmarks from there.
Was your history also removed? Anything else wrong?
Okay I found the bookmark JSONLZ4 files in the old firefox data folder. So now I need to restore from there, so can you please help me with that. Thank you.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

You can restore a JSON backup in the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup > Restore
Note that this will replace all current bookmarks.
