When I send an attachment file from my Yahoo account, it automatically list my wife's Thunderbird, Cox email in the from box, instead of my email.

Can not highlight the "from" box to change to my email. Even though I am sending this from my Yahoo mail box, when any attachment is added it shows that it is coming form my wife's cox.net email??

Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > outgoing server (smtp)

Check you actually have an outgoing server for your yahoo account configured. The inability to change from one sender to another indicates there is only one outgoing account defined.
