Reload button greyed out most of the time.

When I want to reload a site to up date info, frequently the reload button is greyed out, and I have to go to bookmarks to refresh the site.

Did you try to click that button anyway in case the state isn't showing correctly?

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Greyed out button does nothing. Pressing Shift and left clicking button dies nothing. "Ctrl + F5" and "Ctrl + Shift + R" do nothing when button is greyed out.

Did you try Safe Mode?

You can also try to open a new window to see if it works better in that window and close the other (previously used) window.
