When I type in facebook.com and click the choices don't come up. Happens when I type in anything.
the choices don't come up
Chosen solution
Since you want to go to Facebook.com, maybe you can save the step of searching by doing one of these instead:
- Type facebook.com in the address bar and press Enter. Firefox should automatically direct you to https://www.facebook.com/
- Bookmark Facebook so you can visit without using search (see this article for tips: Bookmarks in Firefox)

Do you get this problem when you use the address bar or when you use the search box in Firefox's built-in home page?
Could you try the Search Reset extension:
I use midcontinent for my home page and type in the search box by google facebook.com and the choices don't come up.
This page? http://www.midco.net/
I can get a blank results page if I disable the scripts from synacor.com from running (Synacor seems to be a related company or website).
Can you think of any add-ons or external programs you might be using that would be selectively blocking content on a web page, whether it's ads, scripts, or other content?
To see whether an add-on is the culprit, you could try Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any difference?
Also, in case the site was updated and Firefox is using mismatched files from its cache, try clearing your Firefox cache.
Method #1:
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Method #2:
Clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
Does that help?
I just added ad blocker would that do it?
Hi boredmama, ad blockers use a pattern to try to recognize ads, but it's not foolproof. Can you make an exception for midco.net and see whether that helps?
That wouldn't work cause I go on facebook on midco and don't want the ads when I play words with friends Thanks for all your help.
