Could you walk me through that in a little more detail: You submitted a search to Google using the address bar or one of Firefox's search boxes, and did you actually get a legitimate Google search results page, or did you get a different kind of page? Is Firefox able to open other addresses (e.g., you could type something short like abc.com in the address bar) or bookmarks? (When you install Firefox, it will discover preexisting add-ons on your system. You may have disabled those add-ons in other browsers and forgotten about them, so although you have a brand new installation of Firefox, it's still possible that it could have some aberrant behaviors.)
