Lost "Snippets" and need to recover

I had been using "Snippets" plug-in for quite some time. I screwed up something and lost all my Snippets data and the plug-in. I can't find the plug-in via Firefox, so I went to the net, but the versions of the software all seem to be for notepad. I can't find the plug-in I used several months ago.

What I was using was so simple: CNTL-ALT-V and then a letter.

Does anyone know where I can download and install that, or have a link I can use.

Could it have been Clippings? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/clippings/

You may find your Clippings data here:

C:\Users\username\clipdat2.rdf
C:\Users\username\.clipbak\ (backup files)

If those are missing, you may need to search disk backups or earlier system restore points in order to recover them.

Right on the money. There seems to be two versions of Snippets and I couldn't find the link to the one I needed. Your link plus the other things you mentioned solved the problem and working perfectly.
