my complete desktop changed over the weekend. I cannot get back my background or the tabs I had. I don't have the expertice to get back what I had.

The background now is a grey/black HP background. all of my info is gone. I tried to go back to a p rev. session but that did not work either. I worked on it and got back my desktop background but when I turned on the computer this am it was all back to the black/grey background and info is gone again. I cannot get to the Firefox back where I can log on and get to Yahoo page.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
