Hi this is a strange one .... I've checked all the security settings as per the related articles and my passwords should be getting saved. When I check my saved passwords the list is empty. I'm being prompted to confirm that I wish to save passwords, but when I click the 'Remember Password' box the dialogue box doesn't disappear. It looks like my confirmation isn't actually asserted, even though I'm clicking the button. I've just changed laptops and have imported my profile....I suspect a problem in that area but I don't know what to try next. Hope you can help! Thanks Nick

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

It is possible that there is a problem with the files key3.db and signons.sqlite that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.
Rename the files key3.db and signons.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder.
You can add .old to the file names (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) or move them to another folder to make it possible to undo the action.
You need to set a new Master Password after renaming or deleting key3.db and all currently saved passwords are lost.
If that has worked then you can remove the renamed files that are no longer needed.

Hi cor-el, many thanks for your help - it's all fine now! It was a problem with either key3.db or signons.sqlite. Renaming them as you suggested has sorted it, geat thanks! regards Nick
