tabs keep moving to top even though I've told it to stay on bottom

This latest update to Firefox 12.0 has a small bug that is getting more and more annoying by the hour. Every 15 minutes or so the tabs move back to the default of on top the screen. I've absolutely hated that since day one so I always have it unchecked so they go to the original place. For whatever reason though my tabs keep moving back up randomly but, at least every 15 minutes. Does not matter what tabs are open, just happens.

It is possible you either have a problem with your profile, or an extension is causing this.

Try reading How to fix preferences that won't save. If that doesn't help, will tabs stay on bottom in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

It is not a bug. The developers have chosen to force everyone into using this ******* arrangement. It would not surprise me at all that a firefox developer made it so that no matter how you have it set, it reverts to the #1 ******* position.

This is seriously getting as bad as Microsoft's Ribbons. I also would not be surprised to learn that Microsoft has hired developers to work on Firefox. It makes sense.

With Aurora 15, there's not even any option to move the tabs. It's complete and utter bullshit. Tabs should signify change of content, and since the controls do not change, there is no reason for the controls to be "in" the tabs.

In Firefox 15+ you will have to toggle the browser.tabs.onTop pref directly on the about:config page because you can't do it via View > Toolbars or Firefox > Options.

I have to agree with AeSix. After spending hours trying to configure FF15 I am ready to delete the whole mess and go to Chrome.

Okay, Mr HotShot moderator, here's a question for you: Why did the alleged developers decide to remove the tab position option from the setup menu? Why is it necessary to dig into the config guts of FF to make the change? And, how about you make a positive contribution by providing real answers, instead of just throwing your weight around like a LA cop.

I would dump the whole overbloated mess that Firefox has become, if I wasn't developing web sites and needed it for testing. And here's another question: Why does Firefox display pages so differently from IE and Chrome?

First, if you're trying to be helpful - what is the answer?

Second, If you had read the question you might have noticed it was directed at the "moderator" and the programmers, NOT the volunteers.

Third, professionals must use all three major browsers to check the appearance of their web pages. Failure to do so results in amateurish pages.

And finally, If Mozilla is so responsive to bugs and problems, why is Firefox lagging behind in 3rd place? Is it because Mozilla programmers believe they can do no wrong, or is it because volunteer forums seldom produce meaningful answers, and simply resort to name-calling.

I have posed the questions. If you don't have the answers don't bother replying.
