when i copy something in firefox, i cannot paste it to anywhere in the browser... the paste function in the dropdown list is faded- even after running in safe mode with addons disabled
i also re installed firefox, and still not working, copy and paste is working properly in other programs. i have recently installed spybot search and destroy..but cant see any problems there, tried internet explorer..working fine there

can you upgrade your browser to Firefox 9 and check?

hi, thanks for the feedback, i did the upgrade and restarted, still have the same problem, very strange, thinking about doing a system restore

Don't use system restore. That can only cause problems because Windows doesn't revert all all the files, but only files with some specific file extensions and leaves other out.
Is paste in "Firefox > Edit > Paste" or "Edit > Paste" on the menu bar (press F10) also grayed if you place text on the clipboard in an other application (text editor) and set focus to a text area like "Post a reply" or copy text in that text area to the clipboard via Ctrl+C?
