Hi jedzia Well going back to 6.0.1 is not going to speed it up any. 

 You should clear your cache, How to clear the Firefox cache
 then you should to try this link to Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox and see what is holding you up.

Also check that your anti-virus is not running a scan on everything you do.
