YouTube Music can't be added as a search provider on Firefox, how to fix?

Hi there, I have had a problem with YouTube Music for a long time, and I would like to add YTM as a search provider in Firefox to be able to search for songs, artists, albums etc. more quickly. However, this error message appears every time you try (See image)

I have already tried another Firefox profile, like trying in anonymous mode, but ALWAYS this message appears. Does anyone know what could be the cause or whether this will be fixed by YouTube in the near future? I would really like that because this function would offer me more convenience. You can try it yourself if it is the same with you. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
