My newtab page is always blank i want to go back to about:newtab but the addon doesn't help
Some time ago i had a problem with a malware toolbar. I uninstalled it and got rid of all the extensions and add-ons that were related or even kind of suspicious and it solved the problems. But since I solved this problem, i can't get to set my newtab page, i can only see a blank page. I would like to go back to the about:newtab menu and i know it can't be done with the add-on for that, but i tried to put different urls with it and it didn't work with any of them. Again, this is the only problem i'm having now, i don't have any suspicious add-ons or extensions.
Thanks for the help.

The last time you used New Tab Override, did you have the new tab set to be blank ?

Hi Basset94,
Apparantly your New Tab Override extension isn't working the way it should :
https://github.com/cadeyrn/newtaboverride/issues
Maybe you could disable the extension (for now) and see if that will bring back the default New Tab Page .
Hi Murphy,
Thanks for your suggestion, I tried it and didn't solve it, still blank.
Hi, does it not have a Gear Icon in the Top Right Corner ? Where you would re-enable the options ?
Please update your Flash 27.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.140 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I'm sorry again Murphy but none of that helped
HI, Please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Hello Pkshadow,
I'll add a screenshot of what i see in the new tab, but there isn't a Gear Icon. I also updated flashplayer but nothing changed, thanks for trying!
Could you verify the "address" of your new tab page? This usually isn't visible in the address bar, but if it is, please copy/paste that into a reply.
Otherwise, you can check using the Page Info dialog. Either:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info
To the right of Address, you'll see the address. You can triple-click it to select it, then either use Ctrl+C or right-click > Copy.
(The built-in new tab page has the address about:newtab)

If you had the New Tab Override set to display the new tab as a blank page, and the extension fails to work now - maybe you could post here :
