The customizable Firefox New Tab page can display shortcuts (sites you save or visit the most), popular articles and your recent activity (including recently visited pages or bookmarks). The New Tab page is the default Firefox start page, unless you have set a different home page.

Table of Contents
Shortcuts
The Shortcuts section displays sites you save or visit frequently on Firefox. You may also see sponsored shortcuts, if enabled in your settings. These sites will also appear when you click in the address bar to start a search.
When you first use Firefox, you’ll see links to top-ranking websites and popular search engines. Over time, these are replaced with links to sites you visit often and recently, based on your browsing history.
You can customize by adding multiple rows of Shortcuts, pinning specific sites, and other ways. See this page section for more details.
Weather and Widgets
Firefox Home can display your local weather in the upper right corner, so you can quickly check conditions while browsing. This feature is available worldwide.
You may also see additional widgets, such as Lists and a Timer, being released in various markets. In that case, the weather widget can also be configured to an expanded forecast.
Recommended stories
The Recommended stories section displays content curated by Firefox’s recommendations team and custom machine learning tools. These stories are not informed by your browsing data. You can view or bookmark stories, remove them, or open them in a new window.
Recommended stories on the Firefox New Tab page is a feature currently available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and India. We’re working to bring it to other countries.
Recent activity
The Recent activity section may include your recently visited pages, bookmarks and most recent downloads. In each tile, Firefox will show a download
icon, the bookmark
star or the recent visit clock
icon.
