Thank you, when I clicked it and said "no thanks" the pulsating moved to the settings icon on the right of my screen, I clicked that and said no thanks and it quit....thank you for your help and suggestions....sometimes things are easier than they seem!!!

That sounds really annoying. I don't remember seeing anything like that. Where is that icon located? The one in the search bar above the inbox isn't doing anything fancy on mine.

There is a search box over my emails and it has a spy glass looking icon at the right side of the open box, it is emanating this shock wave every few seconds as if it wants my attention to search my emails or something, these colored waves just started, or perhaps I just noticed them, however, with as often as they occur, it is hard to believe I would not have noticed it before. Thanks for the reply

What happens when you click on that magnifying glass   ?

I find it hard to believe such a distracting design would be Yahoo's idea -- they want you to click the ads...

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement? (More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode)
