Cannot get Norton Toolbar & Vault in Firefox ESR 39

Someone here (very sorry, I have lost track of who) recommended that I install Firefox ESR 38 to get my full functionality with Norton Toolbar and Vault. Before I tried that, I updated from Firefox 40 to Firefox 42, but that change wiped out my ability to open links embedded in emails. So I installed ESR 38. Now, I still don't have my Norton Toolbar or Vault AND I still can't open email embedded links. I have lost pretty much all the functionality of my browser that I depend on all the time. I don't understand why ESR 38 is just as broken as Firefox 40 and Firefox 42. Can anyone tell me how to get my Toolbar, Vault, and emails links back. FYI--when I click on an embedded link, a new tabl opens with a 404 Page Not Found error. Thank you.

As to Norton, it's up to them to update their software for Firefox.

As to the rest, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I solved the embedded link problem by running all my system and registry cleaning tools. I have a full copy of Abobe Acrobat Professional and my system is set to open all PDFs with that program rather than with the Adobe PDF browser plug-in. But the advice I received a few days ago to switch from Firefox to Firefox ESR did not work. I have retraced the timeline of that advice, and it is possible that it was given BEFORE Norton pushed out a Live Update that intentionally took the Toolbar and Vault away from older versions of Firefox. Their reason for doing that is unfathomable. But here we are. Yes, we are all still waiting for Symantec to write that new Toolbar and Vault patch. I am going to watch paint dry. Thanks for trying to help.
