It's rather odd because it doesn't beep at a constant rate so its hard to explain but it's roughly every couple seconds then it stops for ~30 seconds then comes back then it will go away again for longer before returning at a faster rate. It's a soft beep noise and it only starts when i download things through the browser, I've tried clearing my downloads and disabling anything related to sound/alerts in the about:config that seemed relevant, although nothing i have found works. Also it stops entirely if i restart my computer until i download something again.

Firefox does not do any sounds, but add-ons and external programs do.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
