None of these three options helped. I was gone all day and when I got home and just opened up my task manager my computer was running at 39% of RAM being used. When I turned Firefox on to come to the help page my RAM usage went up to 44%. All the previous versions of Firefox have never used this much RAM. Firefox is using 163.3 MB of memory. The other major users are the 11 processes of my McAfee security setup. The use a combined 183.6 MB. If I turn on my webcam, attempt to I.M. or watch anything on Youtube my memory usage goes up to 51% and my comp starts to hang up. This is really getting to be a problem.

None of those options helped. I have tried turning off as many apps as I can but nothing helps. Just having my computer on with no browser is using 30-35% of my memory. I can't understand why this has suddenly happened.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
