Firefox stops responding when I try to save an image from the web, or upload a picture to Facebook.

I am a PC user with Windows 7.

Whenever I try to save an image from a website, Firefox stops responding. If I try to upload a picture from my computer to Facebook, it stops responding.

I have tried all of the solutions suggested by the Mozilla's site, with no change. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox. I have reset Firefox. I have opened it in Safe Mode and attempted to adjust settings. I tried to change the folder into which Firefox downloads my saves, and Firefox stopped responding. I downgraded to a previous version of Firefox, to no avail. I can think of no other solution than to stop using Firefox and use Chrome or Internet Explorer.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>

key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I tried each of these with no success. I'm not sure what the issue is. Anything else we can try? I am going to download Chrome and start getting used to that. I prefer Firefox, but I don't want these problems to continue.
