Cannot bookmark a Youtube video

Whenever I try to bookmark a specific Youtube video, the bookmark does not get added. For example, if I click the Star icon while viewing a video, the little animation plays where the star goes into the clipboard icon, but the star does not turn blue. Any other method of bookmarking a video also does not work.

I also cannot bookmark https://www.youtube.com/yt/about/en-GB/ for example, but I can bookmark the Youtube home page, i.e. https://www.youtube.com/

I haven't come across any other addresses I cannot bookmark yet. I was certainly able to bookmark individual Youtube videos until recently. I first noticed the problem in 33.1 but it's still present in 34.0.

I have tried using the Reset Firefox feature, but that does not fix the problem. I have made a new Firefox profile, and that does fix the problem, but I would like to get it working on my existing Firefox profile if possible.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I have discovered some additional information:

If I right-click on https://www.youtube.com/ and choose Bookmark This Link, I see the first attached image.

If instead I right-click on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmlZWYvXMUo or https://www.youtube.com/yt/about/en-GB/ and choose Bookmark This Link, I see the second attached image.

Something very odd is going on here!

Thanks cor-el. From your first link (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarks_history_and_toolbar_buttons_not_working_-_Firefox) I added the Places Maintenance addon. I ticked "Check Integrity" and it said it was corrupt and would be fixed on restart. I restarted Firefox and that fixed the problem! I can now bookmark specific Youtube videos or the Youtube About page which I could not do before. As far as I can see my existing bookmarks were retained. They have all lost their favicons, but they are regaining them as I visit the sites.

Can you please try this in Safe Mode to make sure that it is not an add on that is changing this feature. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
