All of my websites say I don't have Javascript enabled. I tried going into Firefox-->Preferences-->Content, and there is no "Javascript" listed. I also tried removing firefox from my mac and redownloading it, which didn't help. Can anyone help?

You can no longer toggle JavaScript on/off via the user interface, You need to do this via a pref on the about:config page.

You can check if JavaScript is enabled and isn't blocked. The javascript.enabled pref on the about:config page should be true.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

If the pref is set to true and you still get this error message then check your extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
