‘I can login to Orange website & read my mails: Thunderbird, using same password, gets "Authentication Failed", This on 2 accounts.’ for ‘Thunderbird’. This is a recent problem, occuring after a series of"Account blocked , due to suspicious activity"

I updated to TB154 recently and find that connection to my Outlook calendar via Owl no longer works. In past updates I have been able to turn Owl off and then on again, sign in to Outlook and all is good. This time I was told that I had to unsubscribe from the calendar and then re-subscribe. Unfortunately, nothing that I am trying (sharing, publishing & etc.) is working. I remember that the properties window showed the calendar location as owl:// but everything that I have tried to add after this doesn't work either. Thanks for your assistance.

I use to be able to get my charter.net email messages by going to the Thunderbird icon, but now I get an error message saying there is a connectivity problem. Please help.

how do I configure the account to minimize CPU resources when thunderbird starts up. Once I can get thuderbird to start OK, what are the next steps. It is likely this user has not powered this machine down more often than once every few months. And thanks, I don't anyone else who uses their computer like this.

I have not been able to get my emails today from Charter on my desktop. Everything was working fine yesterday but nothing in coming through today. It looks like it might load, message that it is downloading 1 of 26 and then says nothing to download. I look on Charter website and there are current emails to download but Thunderbird must have a glitch. I have been on the phone with Charter twice, all the settings are correct for incoming and outgoing ports.

I have looked at the settings in Thunderbird and they are correct. I can get the emails on my iPad and iPhone with the Thunderbird app but not the desktop.

Can anyone give me some direction of where to check next?

Comcast/Xfinity forced me to change my email password. I entered the new password when prompted by Thunderbird. I am receiving email from my comcast email account. But anything I send from that email account shows this error: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: resomta-c2p-555442.sys.comcast.net resomta-c2p-555442.sys.comcast.net ESMTP server not available (9009/146.70.230.100)."

I've tried changing the SMPT port to 587 because an online search suggested that might work. The error message changed slightly but it will still not send.

Here are my current "Details of selected server": Description: Comcast Server Type: SMTP Outgoing Server Server Name: smtp.comcast.net Port: 465 Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS

When I click on "test connection" I get a green check mark and the note "Successfully established a secure connection to smtp.comcast.net:465.

What now?

I've been using Thunderbird on our pc for decades, but it I believe the last software update has corrupted the "Password Manager". Since then, almost every time I attempt to log in, I receive the message about my password is incorrect, even though I have changed and checked the box that states something like "use Password Manager" for it. This is naturally "driving me crazy". Is there going to be a fix or is it just my problem? Thank you!

Grouping emails is awesome. Also have the preview show a bunch of compressed email info when a group is selected. However if the group contains only one email nothing is previewn. Is this a bug or a feature?

After a keyboard accident I am left with this situation. Lin found the toggle problem with F8. Wxie suggested the password but the password is correct. Thanks to both of them. It seems the problem is the missing M in .com .It might be in the DNS but I don't seem to have anything to try except to try to recreate the account. If I try that I fear I will only exacerbate the situation. I have had this email for many years. This stared 08/08/2026 I have been searching daily for a solution. Like most things digital it is probably a simple fix if you know how. I don't.

My problem is that I can’t get into Thunderbird because each time I start it up I’m presented with a window that says "System Integration" (Not Responding)" and I have no way of making progress – all I can do is use Task Manager to exit TB.

The “system integration” window first appeared a few days ago and initially I was able to dismiss it by choosing the “Skip integration” option. Today was the first time it became unresponsive. No changes have been made to the system and TB should be up to date – though, not being able to open TB, I can’t check the version number (probably esr).

I have used TB for many years and have it installed on two PCs, both running on Windows 11. It’s working as normal on the other computer.

I’ve tried rebooting the computer, to no effect. I’ve also tried to open TB in troubleshooting mode but can’t get past the "System Integration" (Not Responding)" window.

It’s been a couple of months since I backed up so I’m really hoping there will be a solution that preserves all my emails, address book and calendar.

I’d be very grateful for any suggestions.

I have been using Thunderbird for many many years. I am 70+ and the number and kind of hoops I have to jump through just to keep getting my email are getting beyond me. I recently moved my business hosting, and somehow a change was made in my original email code on Thunderbird so I was not able to do anything with it. I want it on Thunderbird BUT I live in a small rural town and can't find anyone who has been able to help me. The other email systems require a code sent to a cell phone, and although I have a simple emergency phone I do not have a smart phone so I can not receive the code. The other email systems I've tried require an email code be sent to a smart phone almost every day, and although we tried to do this with my daughter's smart phone she is frustrated with me because she has to come over and help me so often. Also, I have so-o-o-o many emails in my original account and I don't want to lose them. Can anyone help??? Does anyone there at Thunderbird work on anything like this? Is there a way to reach Thunderbird directly???

When adding email accounts to Mozilla Thunderbird, when I test our the settings, I get an error message "unable to connect your account to mail.canby.com. As a result since August 6 I have been unable to access my email accounts with error code as the server is not responding or cannot get emails. Have not been able to get assistance from our internet service provider DirectLink in Canby, OR. Have been in Live Chat with about 6 techs who basically have given up and said contact Thunderbird to solve the problem. Anyone have any advice? I can read emails on mail.canby.com. This problem is alive and kicking. The solution is no longer a solution.

I have created an account instance in account settings, and the "Test connection to server" says it is OK, but when I go to the mail tab the get messages button and New Message are grayed out an NO accounts are listed in the "folders" area. Not does it ever ask for my password to the SMTP server I have selected. I have an existing account with my own email service (Hover), and MUST connect to that. This is critical, as I need my e-mail to accomplish necessary activities.

My emails suddenly stopped coming in. Everything was working fine until now! When I try to get emails in thunderbird, I get the message that cannot access the server, or that the system has timed out. I am using Thunderbird for my charter email accounts. I am using Windows 10 on my PC. I checked all email settings in Thunderbird and they are correct. I went to the online email with Spectrum/Charter website, and it is all there.

I need help understanding why this suddenly happened. I am using my Outlook email for this forum since I can't receive my charter emails. My outlook email on same PC is working correctly. Any help would be appreciated! Thank youm

This is simple. Getting here is not. The issue is the zoom feature which many years ago I could not find. Now it is available and that is great, except: The CTRL + and CTRL - do not work until you first use the function in the menu. Once I use it in the menu I can use the key stroke several times to get it where I can read it. Every time though I have to go to the View function in the menu first. Simple fix.
