Tumblr won't load some images in Firefox, but works in other browsers

more options

Recently after Firefox updated itself (as it usually does) I've noticed that Tumblr does not work for me. What I mean by this is that while the website itself loads and I can view text no problem, about 50% of the images don't load even if I refresh the page or restart the browser. Some examples of this are shown here:

And this isn't limited to just the Tumblr dashboard, but also affecting blogs too:

This is the only problem that is affecting the website, as I am able to post, reblog, and do other things on the site. This is the only site where this problem persists, and Firefox is the only browser wherein this problem occurs (I've tested it in Chrome and it works fine, though I would rather not switch over to Chrome because I prefer Firefox). I've cleared the history of Firefox, tried toggling the proxy, emptied the cache, but still the problem persists. It's been like this for a little under a week now and while I thought it would solve itself, it hasn't yet. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated

if I uncheck the checkboxes in Filter Preferences, will this completely disable Adblock Plus?

The Filter Preferences window is split into two tabs:

  1. Filter Subscriptions. Nothing here should cause any issues. In case of problems, first right-click each subscription listed on the left and choose Update Filters. If the problem persists, you can report it on the Adblock Plus forum so that filter list maintainers can fix the problem.
  2. Custom Filters. These are filters that you've added yourself. You can
    • Clear the checkboxes next to the categories there to disable them.
    • Right-click and choose Delete to remove them altogether.
    • Identify which particular filters are causing problems and remove them as described in the aforementioned thread.

Have you tried not only clearing the cache, but also deleting cookies from Tumblr?

I notice that you have Adblock Plus installed. Have you tried disabling Adblock Plus in the Add-ons Manager, Extensions category, then reloading the page? If the problem goes away when Adblock Plus is disabled,

  1. Manually update your filter lists.
  2. Click the Adblock Plus toolbar icon and choose Filter Preferences.
  3. Click the Custom Filters tab.
  4. Clear the checkboxes next to all categories there.
  5. Reload the page.

If the problem persists, check if another add-on is to blame.

I did what you suggested for disabling Adblock and it turns out that the problem was remedied after disabling Adblock. I just have one question; if I uncheck the checkboxes in Filter Preferences, will this completely disable Adblock Plus? Because even if it is the problem I would like to keep Adblock Plus around because of its usefulness on other sites
