• And why do you now wish to go back ?
• What is it you are missing?

I received your message mentioning you had lost an email link to gmail after doing a reset.

The reset will not remove bookmarks but it will remove open tabs and presumably homepages. (I will test that in another profile afterwards).

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

• Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

• Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

• Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

I must not have stated my problem correctly; when my gmail is open and I read an article, for example on yahoo, and want to email the link- when I go to firefox on the top left and use "email link": I am now taken to microsoft office outlook...which I don't have! I want to go back to having the link sent by my gmail.....in other words, on firefox, when i email a link i want it sent the way it was before the reset...by gmail

Did you check the current setting for Mailto in Tools > Options > Applications?
