Whenever I open firefox orca comes on with a description of the web page im on. It drives me nuts and I would like to mute orca completely. I unloaded the orca app, but the voice still keeps talking.

Hello Please check your Add-ons, if you find any Add-ons about which you have no idea then remove it and restart the firefox.

Moreover please go through disable extensions, themes, and plugins .

For help diagnosing problems caused by extensions, see Troubleshoot extensions, hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

Did you remove it using your package manager (such as synaptic, right click the package, and click complete remove).

Does Orca show in the System Monitor?
Did you check the startup applications?

Orca doesn't start for me (I see Python compilation errors), so can check how it works with Firefox.

You may only have shutdown its user interface and not the service that still runs in the background.

Did you check which applications (daemons) are automatically started when you boot Linux?

All of you, thank you for your help. I will be switching back to Windows-I know it and how to navigate around the programs.
