Bing has taken over my life. How can I bang it away for good?

Bing is nowhere to be found on my computer, however when I do an address bar search it pops up, and I get Microsoft Windows Updates for bing. I've searched the hard drive and deleted anything that had bing in it, it is not in the list of search providers, I don't have any addons that mention bing (although it could be there and not mentioned), I have MS Office, but don't think it's there, It's not in about:config, I am at wit's end because of this dastardly/bastardly nasty site that keeps reappearing. I have a list of 15 or so search engines and never would I include bing because of what it has done. Where is it residing?

go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Info > Open Profile Directory folder and delete user.js file

Hello you can also try resetting firefox ,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I'll use this as a last resort. too many extensions, cookies, etc. that I'd rather not lose. Yet.

OK I found this file (which was also on the troubleshooting listing saying it wasn't a file that should be there) and deleted it. (It took a while, for some reason even though I'm administrator and the only user (one ID for everything) I didn't have access to that and a few other files that keep reappearing. I had to create an admin user in windows with the same rights as me (stupid) and was able to delete it. Think it had something to do with sweetpacks or a video/photo editing program called Magix that I am finding everywhere on my system. We shall see if this worked. Keeping my banged up bingled fingers crossed! Thank you
