I have used on occasion the browser Iron (from the Chromium source code) and have many bookmarks there that I would like to import into Firefox v. 21. when I click on the Bookmarks library in Firefox, Iron does not appear. Any way to do this?

Thank you in advance for any info.

hello cactusdr, chrome (& therefore iron too i suppose) will allow you to export your bookmarks as a html file: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816

it should then be possible to import the bookmarks in this html file from within your firefox library: Import Bookmarks from an HTML file

Thanks philipp for the reply. Followed what you posted and was shocked to find that ALL bookmarks for Iron are now gone. Found the html file for Iron and imported into Firefox, but not only are the Iron bookmarks gone, they never appeared in Firefox. Would you happen to know if a System Restore would recover same or because these are docs that the SysRestore will have no effect? Thanks for your help.

i don't know the internals of how chrome/iron is storing its bookmarks unfortunately and if a system restore can be a viable tool recovering them. normally exporting the bookmarks as html shouldn't affect/delete the bookmarks in chrome at all. when you double-click on the html file, does it show your bookmarks as content/can you import the html file into iron again?

Unfortunately, the html file I exported from Iron no longer exists in the user Data folder. It shows in a system wide search (using the search agent "Everything")as being there, but in the folder.....NO. When I click on the file (from the search) Iron launches and not in html format. All the bookmarks are there, but not in a format that I'm familiar with to make them display. BTW, SysRestore was ineffective. Another BTW, there was no file associaation with this file until I changed the name to bookmarks and added .html. So it shows as an Iron document, but the icon shows no association.

Also, I found the Bookmarks.bak file (with no association) and when I click on it Iron opens and ALL the bookmarks I want are there. Just in a format that I cannot convert to usable bookmarks. sorry for the info overload.

Thanks again for your help.

Sorry for the trouble, but this is what I see when I click on the Bookmarks from the Chromium folder and opens in Iron:
