After auto-updating to v20.0.1 many things do not work (context menus, tabs, back and forward buttons, - dozens more problems). This is such a profound problem I cannot even use Firefox, and I need to go back to the previous version.

Please advise.

Thank you Mozilla, I do appreciate Firefox.

edit TAB MIX PLUS is the problem

if a plugin may be causing problems, remember to disable them.

Safe Modes changes a few things including disabling add-ons, but it leaves plugins installed.

Hi!

I'm sorry that you are running into these problems. I haven't read about this issues before.

Have you tried to use the browser in Safe Mode. It seems that a plugin can be causing problems. We know that FireBug is causing similar issues: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

Best, Ibai

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

Solved.

The problem was the TAB MIX plugin was incompatible. Now I know when an upgrade results in problems, disable each plugin to find the problem. Basic beginner stuff to remember. Thank you all for answering this question.

I see that what may be that particular addon has previously caused problems.
With any luck it may get an update to fix it.

I note the addon (assuming that is the correct one) has an active support site. The site mentions a recent release and a development release.

Are you able to clarify exactly what software and version it is that you used. You may also wish to contact the other software's support site.
