I cannot watch videos on any websites with firefox. They all work with Internet Explorer. This just started happening a few days ago.
when I go to youTube and click on a video, I get a black screen with the controls, and a start arrow in the middle. When I click on the arrow to start, no video comes up....just the statement: "an error occurred. Please try again later." Similar thing on other websites with videos. They will not play. On another website with videos, it said the player will not load. I cleared the cache, the cookies, downloaded the new 14 beta version of firefox, tried downloading an older version of Adobe Flashplayer (11). I had Firefox v13. Nothing has changed, so far. I hope someone can help with this. All these sites and videos work just fine when I use Internet Explorer.

There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player (11.3) and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Could you see whether anything in this article helps: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox.

what version do you recommend I use?
Since Flash 11.3 works for me on all my computers, I'm still on Flash 11.3. But If I had to choose, I'd try 10.3 as it is current with security patches. If you find that the sites you use (recent games maybe?) don't work without Flash 11, then you might prefer to install 11.2 and take a little more risk.
I tried to download version 11.2 from Adobe, but it won't download, saying I am not downloading the latest version. Is Firefox going to update so that it will work with 11.3?
I think you have to uninstall 11.3 in order to install 11.2. Please see Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again for links.
Mozilla and Adobe have been working on this issue, but I don't know when the next release will be.
If you are sticking with Flash 11.3 for a while, you could try disabling Flash 11.3's protected mode for Windows Vista/7 and see whether that helps. The steps are in the "Last Resort" section of this article: Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
IT WORKS! Thanks jscher2000 I've had this issue for about a week.

If RealPlayer is installed, try this first Turn off Web Download & Recording in RealPlayer
Launch RealPlayer Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences. Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers" Click OK and close RealPlayer Restart Firefox
This will remove the RealPlayer Browser Record extension from the Firefox Add-ons Manager.
and this solved my issue.
I use Real player to download videos from Youtube, etc. Won't that block me from doing it, even in my Internet Explorer?
Hi jomama2, instead of removing RealPlayer Browser Record from all browsers, you could try disabling the plugin from running just in Firefox.
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins
