Flash video does not play at all
When I try to play video (e.g. on youtube) Firefox is crashing, freezing and I can't do anything until I kill plugin-container. What did you do with my favourite browser?! I hate Chrome... When Google create it... all the browsers are the same as Chrome now.. wtf? The old good Mozilla Firefox got the same shitty style and it's crashing all the times i start to play video.
Reinstall the flash plugin does not work. Disabling any other extensions or cleaning whatever doesn't resolving the problem at all. My CPU and RAM are jaded by Firefox, especially by the plugin container which is flooding the ram. All the other software is running perfect on this machine. Firefox 12 with official Flash version 11.2 (from Adobe), x86 Win 7, 4GB RAM, Intel Core2Duo @ 2.2 Ghz on improved HP 6710b
I have the same version of Firefox on my desktop PC (AMD X2 5600+ @ 2.81 Ghz, 4 GB RAM) and it works great!

hello kchochev, this is likely a problem in connection with the recent update of adobe's flash plugin (chrome gets supplied with a different variant of the plugin by adobe), please refer to the following article for common solutions: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox
please also update your firefox to the current version...
Hello madperson,
I've just read all the information provided by Adobe on their FAQ section about Flash player plugin for Firefox...
So, it's not about the extensions, it's not about the profiles... I tried to disable this protection mode in flash but unsuccessful... SO what to do next?
Flash 11.3 crashes or does not load in Firefox 13
1.Disable the RealPlayer Browser Record extension
I have no RealPlayer Extension, in addition I have no extensions except flashblock and HP Detect (now disabled).
2.Disable Protected Mode in Flash
I have done this. No result.
3.Enable out of process plugin protection if it has been disabled
This isn't touched ever. How someone who is installing Firefox could install it with disabled options (option which access is from the already installed browser)? It's all the same standard installation, isn't it?? Who is the regular user who's going to prod the browser this way? There's no sense...
A new fresh installation of Firefox with a new fresh Adobe Flash plugin does not work at all! It's just freezing when trying to play video, all the other kind of flash is going well.
Also my flash is not 11.3 but 11.2.
I've updated my Firefox to the latest v.
hello, ok i assumed you would already have been auto-updated by adobe. in case you are still having flash 11.2 installed the article i've referred to doesn't apply (since the protected mode was only introduced in flash 11.3).
in this case can you please remove flash from your system with the uninstaller provided by adobe & install the current version of the plugin from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (uncheck the offer to run the bundled security software)
Yes, I've just updated the flash - I can't believe it works! Literally I can breathe now! I'll find someone to pinch me :D
Most of the people will just change the browser because of these little big mistakes in flash or maybe in Firefox (instead of reading a tons of information, in many times useless)?

Thank you for helping, suggesting and staying with me till the problem being solved!
you're very welcome :-)
Unfortunately my problem is half solved - Now i found that if I open two tabs with Flash video content, Firefox is freezing again. I see that in my tasks Flash plugin appears twice... Now I have to kill the flash plugin to continue "working" with the browser...
ok, then back to step one ;-) can you try disabling the flash protected mode
To disable Protected Mode, add the following line to your mms.cfg file located in:
Windows 32bit: C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash
ProtectedMode=0
I have already done this. My first suggestion was to disable it, but no result. Furthermore by disabling the protected mode I've got the situation before Firefox and flash update.

does flash content work normally when you launch firefox in safemode?
No, it doesn't.
can i ask which security software you're using on your pc? please make sure that firefox.exe and the plugin-container.exe aren't blocked or sandboxed in any way...
Windows Defender, Windows Firewall (Firefox plugin-container is allowed, I've just added Firefox to the white list too) ESET NOD32 Malwarebytes
This is my security software, I use the same on my desktop PC.

I hope this is my final solution to this problem! So for other users Firefox 13 and Flash 11.2 (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe) is the combination!
Thanks cor-el!
Now it works fine!
