Anyone have a simple fix to stop welcome page from opening with home page?
I see this issue is widespread, but some of the "easy" fixes are for computer geeks only. I would like to know if anyone could tell me how to get rid of the welcome page without delving into the guts of my computer? I don't write software, and I'm not going to jump through hoops to try to get rid of this nuisance.
There has to be more people like me who look at some of these replies and think, "What?"...especially when we don't see what you're apparently seeing when you "walk us through" steps to correct this issue.
I feel Firefox should address this personally, since it's their update that screwed us all up. Supposedly, updates are supposed to get us "ready to enjoy the very latest in speed, flexibility and security"...yeah, okay. How about fixing this bug, Firefox??? Instead of making your users solve the issues for you. This is ridiculous.
If no one can help me solve this without me having to get a degree in computer science, can someone tell me how to get rid of the update altogether? I'll take my chances by NOT being "ready to enjoy the latest in speed, flexibility and security"...
I'm sorry for the frustration, but this is just unacceptable. We shouldn't have to go through this every time we update. Thanks for any help!

See? Complicated. I'm just going to live with it. Thanks.

How to fix preferences that won't save article may help to you
Yeah...tried that. That was part of the "not seeing what you're seeing" routine. I read that reply and when I went in to try to do what they said, I didn't have the three "js" files...I had two of them, but when I tried to delete one, it said it couldn't as it was part of my IncrediMail application something or other. This is just so ridiculous...don't you see? Why in the world should we have to jump through the hoops of hell to fix a bug that Mozilla is responsible for? Perhaps they should troubleshoot their own issues before they offer updates. Thanks anyway for trying to help.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
See these articles for some suggestions:

Yes, I know how to get to the profile directory. Unfortunately, opening the containing folder with the intention of deleting the js files doesn't work...in fact, the three js files are not all there. Again, this is ridiculous to have to go through all this because of a bug with Firefox. Thanks, anyway.
Windows may be hiding the .js file extension, so you may only see prefs instead of prefs.js
I'm just going to uninstall and reinstall...see if that works. I don't have time to fool around with all this jargon. I hate being at the mercy of bugs. I might as well go back to Internet Explorer for all the good this does me! haha...thanks for the help.
Make sure that you backup your profile data if you decide to remove your personal data when uninstalling Firefox.
