When I open our squirrel mail box w/firefox, the tool bar (reply, forward, etc) don't function. They do, however, with IE. Why?

We have been using squirrel mail and firefox for several years and not had problems entering our webmail acct w/inmotionhosting.com Within the past week or two, we've had to re-enter our ID & password to access the acct. Also, the cursor doesn't change to make available a function along the top of the Inbox (reply, forward, etc). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox to no avail.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Cor-el: Thanks for your recommendation. I tried it and it worked, in safe mode. I haven't tried using Mozilla Firefox in regular mode and that is what I'm going to do tonight. Cross your fingers that Mozilla Firefox will work without having to be in safe mode. Enjoy the week! Go, Giants!!!!!

Cor-el, I DID speak too soon. When I entered into Mozilla Firefox and went to our account, I was unable to delete, reply, etc, when not in safe mode. Did I do something wrong???

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
