If you are on the beta update channel (Help > About) then you need to install the release version to get off the beta update channel.

Firefox 8.0 is no longer a Beta version, it was released on Nov 8th.

Uh i am on firefox 8.0 and i want to turn off beta updates so i dont update to beta 9.0...
