Firefox 7.0.1 only downloads partial files, I cleaned the download cache and made about:config changes suggested in help site but still get partial file downloading

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

You're right. I went into about:config and turned off download scanning and had no problem downloading a file which wouldn't download when scanning was active. I'm running AVG 2012.0.1834, and don't have problems with files downloaded with other browsers. I'm hesitant to change anti virus programs, but if AVG or Firefox can't solve the problem I'll try Avast. Thanks much for the help.
