since downloading #5 I can't scroll web pages using the up or down arrows - I immediately am sent to the bottom of the page rather than being able to scroll line by line

In addition I can not return to the top of the page by pressing "home". I have to resort to using the bar to control up and down movements. I tried to go back to an earlier version of firefox, but didn't seem to be able to access the older versions. Loved firefox but find myself moving more and more to chrome and to explorer.

Chosen Solution

You are probably in Caret Browsing mode. Tap F7 to toggle Caret Browsing on or off. Caret Browsing is an accessibility feature. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Accessibility_features_of_Firefox#Allow_text_to_be_selected_with_the_keyboard
