Will Firefox 4 be improved or should I move elsewhere?
Since updating to F4 the internet freezes regularly, connection times onto new sites are absurdly slow and clicks take ages to activate. So, much as I have loved Firefox in the past is it time to say goodbye or will it be fixed?

Please do the following.
Click the orange Firefox button, go to Add-ons | Plugins and disable McAfee Virtual Technician
If you have McAfee Site Advisor installed as well, please disable it in the Add-ons | Extensions menu.
Update the following: Java via http://www.java.com/en/ The installation should remove the old version you have installed at the moment (1.6.0_20), but check to make sure it's gone afterwards (via the Plugins menu).
Update Adobe Shockwave for Director via http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Update Adobe PDF via http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO The version you have installed at the moment is a security risk. See http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/apsa11-02.html
Download the free version of Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and run a full system scan to eliminate malware as the cause of the problem.
If the problem persists after taking the above steps, try running Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
Excellent - works a treat: many thanks!
