How do I change the default url when opening a new tab?

Posted

Yahoo somehow hijacked my browser and now whenever I open a new tab (within the same window) it opens to Yahoo by default. I can't find where to change this url. It is different from the default "homepage" (the page that appears when first starting a new instance of Firefox). Thanks.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

I have had this problem. The reason is one of your add-ons.
