If I use MS IE, and log in, it works fine, and I can keep signed in, but using Firefox, I have to log in again to get to gmail if I go off at all. I hate IE, and have been using Firefox for years, and usually love it, but this is such a pain, I may have to switch. Others have this same problem. Does it have to do with cookies, and what can be done about it.?

BTW, my Windows 7 crashed a few months ago, and when it was reloaded this was a problem. Previously I could use "http:://google.com/ig as my home page, and it kept the GMail fine. After reload 7, no good. Fix please.google.com/ig

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
  • Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.
