If i have multiple tabs open and try to close the very first tab, that first tab stays open on the tab bar at the top of the screen. If there is only one other tab open, the tab bar will hide itself ( i have the settings that way) and if i close the second tab, firefox closes as well. I dont know why this is happening, is there anyway for me to make that first tab actually close/

How are you closing that first tab?
Does it work when you middle click that tab?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

i was just using the "x" on the tab itself, and no the middle clicking was not working. It was basically like the tab was just frozen there, but firefox itself was fine. I haven't added any new themes or extensions for a while, so i don't think it could be that, but ill try it in safe mode anyway, maybe a setting got changed or something w/o me realizing it. thanks!
