Same error here on Xubuntu 24.04 Noble. I found a directory ~/Downloads//thunderbird.tmp/MozillaMailnews which seems to have the msf files for all recently accessed mailboxes in it, such as Inbox.msf, Trash.msf, etc. Maybe this directory was created because of the error? But note also that I recently did a clean install of Xubuntu 24.04 and ported my mail setup from the old 22.04 system, probably not in the recommended way. Edit: More info on 2024-10-27 My TBird version is 128.3.1esr (64-bit) In the meantime my accounts sidebar has become completely cluttered with spurious folders like "Sent.gz", Sent.msf.gz", etc., 2 such compressed folders for every one that has had any action recently. Also Thunderbird crashes every day now. Help, anybody???

Hei Hei!

I got the same problem under Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon with the package version "thunderbird/wilma 1:128.3.1esr+linuxmint1+wilma amd64".

Same story here and I am on Ubuntu 24.04.1 and TB 128.3.1esr (64-bit) . . .

Reported here too.

Of course, it doesn't seem to be affecting proper delivery and sendout of email. not that I've noticed lately. Barring a failure of a Send Receipt today.
