I do a LOT of research. That said, I guess I could go through MONTHS of history, but it would take forever to find them again. I happened to have two windows open, one with all my tabs, while the new window only had three tabs open. I needed to restart my Win 10 computer for a late security update, and yes, I did/do have my settings set to retain all open tabs. Well, when I went to shut down Firefox ver. 117.0 64bit, I closed the window with all my Important tabs down first. And lastly, the window with only the 4 tabs.

There was NO WARNING, NO POP-UP, NOTHING, that I was about to lose over 50 tabs!!!! Some having been opened for months (no, I don't shut my computer off unless I have to). So, the next time I opened Firefox, all I saw was 4 tabs.

THIS ISSUE needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. People NEED to know about this bug until fixed or a TWO LEVEL WARNING GIVING OUT VIA POP-UP, that they will lose ALL OF THE TABS if they shut down the wrong window first.

ALL TABS back from before my screw-up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT, I will say, for someone that doesn't know their backside from a whole in the ground concerning computers, THE INSTRUCTIONS would be ABSOLUTE GOBBLEDY-GOOK.....for those poor folks that don't know their way around a ocmputer, let alone not knowing what to open to even start looking, AND, most new compuuters come with "show hidden files, folders" UN-MARKED. They would have NO CLUE howto find "appdata" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mozilla STILL NEEDS TO PUT UP AND BIG RED BOX THAT SAYS.....

"WARNING - YOU HAVE 2 WINDOWS OPEN IN FIREFOX, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHUT DOWN THE ONE WITH THE FEWEST TABS OPEN OR THE WINDOW WITH THE MOST TABS OPEN. THE WINDOW YOU CLOSE DOWN 1ST WILL ***LOSE*** ALL OF THE OPEN TABS" And have yes or no buttons. BUT even after THAT, A SMALLER RED BOX SHOULD ASK - "ARE YOU POSITIVE YOU WANT TO SHUT THIS ONE WITH (( and have the number of open tabs appear )) OPEN TABS DOWN AS THEY WILL ALL BE LOST???"

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or developers. If you want to leave feedback for developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Share ideas and feedback…. Alternatively, you can use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

You can also file a bug report or feature request. See File a bug report or feature request for Mozilla products for details.
