Chosen solution

Make sure Firefox isn't set to run in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Make sure you have updated the Widevine plugin to the latest version (4.10.2557.0).

  • Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins

You can toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can possibly check the XHR requests in the Browser Console if this doesn't work.

Also since you use Linux, make sure you have packages like FFmpeg installed.

Hi James -- Thanks for the time you took to try to help me with this. I did all of the things you recommended but it still does the same thing. The interesting thing is that it plays videos on the launch screen but not when you select a movie to watch.

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.

The error code F7701-1003 is associated with Netflix and can occur on various devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs. This error usually indicates a problem with the information stored on the device or browser you are using to access Netflix. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this error:

Clear browser data: If you are using a web browser to access Netflix, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. This can help to remove any corrupted data that may be causing the error. To do this, go to your browser's settings or options and look for the "Clear browsing data" option.

Restart your device: Sometimes simply restarting your device can resolve the error. Try turning your device off and on again.

Check your internet connection: Ensure that your device is properly connected to the internet and that your internet connection is stable. If you're using a Wi-Fi connection, try resetting your router or modem.

Disable VPN or Proxy: If you're using a VPN or proxy service, try disabling it as it may be interfering with Netflix. Netflix blocks many VPN and proxy services to prevent unauthorized access.

Update Netflix App: If you're using the Netflix app on your device, check to see if there is an update available. Go to your device's app store and check for updates for the Netflix app.

Check for system updates: Ensure that your device is running the latest operating system or software. If you're using a smart TV, make sure that it's updated with the latest firmware.

If none of the above solutions work, you can try contacting Netflix support for further assistance.

Cor-el: You were right on with the DRM statement. Only, in this version (v113) I had to search for DRM in order for it to show. It did not show up in the Plug-Ins area by itself. But, it's all worklng good now, and, I thank you very kindly.
