I know this has been asked before several times, but none of the fixes I read worked and I cannot ask for futher help in them as they are archived. I'm using Firefox 107.0.1 and every time I open it, I get the annoying update nag window that I have to dismiss. I tried policies, about:config to turn off updates, registry hacks, nothing makes a difference. Every time I open, I get the nag window.

Is there any way to stop it? Before someone starts talking about how unsafe it is to ignore updates, Firefox is only used for my intranet. I'm pretty sure I can trust my own sites that are not connected to the internet ;)

You can only use a policy to stop it. And it should work. Try again and check about:policies if it has been activated.

Hmm it said "The Enterprise Policies service is inactive". I Googled that to find info on it, but mostly getting just threads asking about it. Is there a page somewhere that explains how to set that up?

Where did you place the policies.json file and what is its content?
