when opening Firefox 97 it opens multiple tabs

When I open Firefox 97 it will open multiple, 4 to 9, tabs and will not open. I can get Firefox to open using a refresh but it then will not access the internet. I'm not a "techie" and do not really understand he inner workings of the software, I do need help troubleshooting. This problem has also effected the Microsoft edge browser in the same manner.

I think you mean; 'will open multiple, 4 to 9, but not access the web' Yes?

What is in all those tabs?

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
