LONG TIME USER..BUT NEVER EXPERIENCEd THIS BEFORE.

SINCE MS'S LATEST DISRUPTIVE 5 RECENT UPDATES, INSTALLING THEIR NEW EDGE BROWSER-- IT HAS PRACTICALLY MADE FIREFOX TOTALLY IMPOTENT OR USELESS. CANNOT ACCESS ALMOST ANY LINK OR WEBSITE ANY MORE.

HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO COPY & PASTE LINK THEN OPEN IN EDGE IN ORDER TO FUNCTION.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE AND WILL FIREFOX RESOLVE THIS SOON? pLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE.

Please turn off your Caps Lock. In text talk, this is shouting.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Thank you and sorry for Shouting... I dabbled with the Firewall in VIPRE (Threattrack.com) which I've been using for years. Never experienced anything as intrusive as this in all these years. How much of a coincidence is it that this only occurred during the last 5 very recent MS updates, while they were promoting their new Edge browser? How could they penetrate into VIPRE and introduce these changes? That is the big question. They've also impacted my private network and the ability to communicate between my desktop and laptop (hardwired, yet). I did not find any reference whatsoever to Firefox so I do not know if it was there before or not. Although not sure of precisely what I did (that's why I say I dabbled) I do know I added Firefox and "allow" and it seems to be better and faster than ever. Here's hoping it will hold up and MS will keep their destructive hands off my system.
