Any way to adjust the length of the address bar? It gets so short it doesn't show anything! Not talking about font size. The bar itself is too small.

Not the font size.

You can place the mouse pointer between the location bar and the search bar in normal mode (i.e. not in customize mode) to get a resize pointer that you can drag left or right to change the relative width of both bars (the total length doesn't change). This only works if the two bars are positioned next to each other with no other elements in between them. This works either way with the search bar to the left and to the right of the location bar.

If this doesn't work then try to click Restore Defaults on the Customize palette page.

Hi jcwolf, Go to the Customize palette - Menu -> Customize

There, you can remove the flexible space at either end of the address bar. To lengthen the bar even more, you may need to move some of your toolbar items into the Overflow.

Question owner

I had "use the address bar for search" checked instead of separate boxes for address and search. Once I checked the other choice, giving me two boxes, I could see the adjustable divider between the two and could lengthen the address bar. Works! So far.

Thanks!
