a problem with http://metagmae.org/page/
Hi. I have a problem with http://metagmae.org/page/ and I have no idea how that came to me. No matter what I do, nothing can help me to avoid that thing. It auto-starts Firefox and tries to get more information. It is said that it is a virus. And I can't delete it from Firefox because I can't find it. Can you please help me to solve this? I uninstalled Firefox and deleted everything but when I installed it back, it came back! It is terrible and makes me crazy. Please help me with that. I love Firefox and it is now almost 15 years I am using it. I started with Firefox 6.0 or something.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Hi Memo,
Sorry to hear you're having issues which seems to be malware.
Go to the Firefox menu (≡) => Options => Add-ons => Extensions and remove anything that looks unfamiliar or suspicious.
Do the same in Windows Control Panel => Programs
Next step is to run malwarescans - further information can be found in this article :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
Let me know if this helps!

Hi VMagic Model
Thank you for your help. I did this before but it still keeps coming though Firefox doesn't let it show any content, it still auto starts the app in the PC. I wonder if it is hidden in the installed files in C/programs. But I have no idea where it is hidden. It is so annoying and probably it steals information.
Hi Memo,
Can you check your Firefox icon on your desktop?
Right click your icon and under Short check to see if there is anything added after "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

Can you open your Windows Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and see if you see anything suspicious running in the Processes tab?

Thank you everyone who helped me. I solved it. I installed CCleaner and Malwarebytes and started with Ccleaner and scaned the PC. Deleted the unknown plugins in the browsers then started Malwarebytes and it found 9 Trojans and quarantined, then I deleted those files and later when I restarted my PC, it was gone. Hope that helps others.
That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this could help others with similar problems.
Hello Memo,
I just noticed that 4 weeks ago you posted the same problem here :

I also noticed that you inadvertently marked cor-el's post as Chosen Solution, while doing what WMagicModel suggested in his first post is
